Analysis
Missouri is coming into this game with a 15-3 record this season and they are 4-1 in the conference. They have been playing very well in their recent games as they have won their last 4 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games, but the SEC is also one of the strongest conferences in the country right now yet Missouri has not played many strong opponents. Their only quality win in their last 4 games was a 1 point win on the road against Florida, but their other 3 wins in that span came against weaker teams in the conference such as LSU, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas who were all unranked at the time. They also have a road loss against Auburn this season and they lost that game by 16 points as they were not able to keep up with one of the better teams in the conference. Missouri is still a very good team, but they have benefited from a weaker conference schedule to start the season and they have still lost 2 of their 3 road games this season. They are going up against a Texas team that is 12-6 this season and they have been awful in the conference at 1-4. They have not been playing well as they have lost 4 of their last 5 games, but they have also had a very strong schedule to start conference play. All 4 of their losses in the conference have come against ranked opponents as they have had to play 4 ranked teams in their first 5 games of the conference schedule. Their only win in the conference came on the road against Oklahoma, but they have road losses against Florida and Texas A&M as well as home losses to Tennessee and Auburn. Tennessee and Auburn are 2 of the better teams in the conference though and they did not play poorly in those games either, losing by 5 points to Auburn and by 4 points to Tennessee. Prior to those 2 losses at home, they were dominant there as they won 4 straight as well as 8 of their 9 games there with a majority of those wins coming by 10+ points. Texas is going to be hungry to bounce back at home after a bad start to conference play and this will be a more managable game for them to win at home. They have also been the better team at defending shots this season. Texas will cover the spread in this game.
