Colorado is coming into this game with a 14-20 record this season and they were 3-17 in their conference. They were awful for most of the season and were one of the worst teams in the Big 12, but they started to play much better near the end of the season. They are coming off of a 77-68 loss against Houston in their last game which was in the Big 12 Tournament, but they have won 3 of their last 4 games with 2 wins against TCU and a win against West Virginia. They were also much better against non-conference opponents this season as they went 9-1 in those games and only really struggled in the Big 12, their 1 loss in that span coming against Michigan State, and they were also 1-0 against the Big East with a win against UConn. They are going up against a Villanova team that is 19-14 this season and they were 11-9 in their conference. They ended the season with a 73-56 loss against UConn in the Big East Tournament and they have lost 2 of their last 3 games. They were not very strong in the non-conference either, going 7-4 to start the season. Villanova also has a lot of off the court distractions as they fired their head coach and have already hired a new one, but even with their current players sticking around for this tournament, the focus is already on next season.
