Analysis: Tulane is coming into this game with a 19-14 record this season and they were 12-6 in their conference. They have won 2 of their last 3 as well as 4 of their last 6 games and they are coming off of a very close loss to Memphis in the AAC Tournament, losing 78-77. They were very good in their conference for most of the season, but they were awful in non-conference play as they started the season 6-7. They did play in a conference with a very good Memphis team that has been ranked all year, but other than that, they really have not been tested this year. They only played 1 game against a power conference opponent and they lost that game at a neutral location 77-64 against Florida State who was one of the worst teams in the ACC. They are going up against a USC team that is 16-17 this season and they were 7-13 in their conference. They struggled a lot in the Big 10 this year and ended the season with 2 wins in their last 4 games, but they are coming off of a 76-71 loss to Purdue in the Big 10 Tournament and did not play bad in that game. They were also much better against non-conference opponents this season as they went 8-3. USC has been more accurate with their shooting this season, both from the field as well as from 3 point range, and that is going to play a big role in this game. Tulane is also missing 2 key players who are in the portal, including their 2nd best scorer who is also their top rebounder this season. USC will cover the spread in this game.
